About the lab

About the lab

Venloe Materials Lab tests and analyzes materials for makers of parts, packaging, and electronics. Customers send samples; we run the tests, interpret the results, and issue a signed report.

Beyond routine testing, our research team takes contract projects: developing a new compound, finding out why a part failed, or comparing suppliers' materials before a switch.

Testing and analysis

Testing and analysis
01

Mechanical testing

Tensile, compression, bending, impact, and hardness tests from room temperature to 300 °C.

02

Chemical analysis

Composition, impurities, and additives in metals and polymers by spectroscopy and chromatography.

03

Microscopy

Electron and optical microscopes for fracture surfaces, coatings, and cross-sections down to the micron scale.

04

Failure analysis

We find out why a part cracked, corroded, or wore out, and report the cause with photos and data.

03

Milestones

  1. 2006

Founded by five materials scientists as a testing lab

  2. 2012

    Added the electron microscopy room

  3. 2017

Started contract research on new materials

  4. 2023

Issued 9,400 test reports in one year

How a test runs

1

Tell us the material, the test you need, and your deadline. We reply with a quote and sample requirements within one working day.

2

Send or drop off your samples. We log each one and confirm receipt the same day.

3

Technicians run the tests. Routine tests take five working days; rush service takes two.

4

You receive a signed report with raw data, and a researcher walks you through the results by phone if needed.

05

Before you send samples

How many samples do you need?

It depends on the test. Most mechanical tests need five specimens per condition, and we confirm the number in the quote.

Are results kept confidential?

Yes. We sign an NDA on request, and reports go only to the people you name.

Can you test to our own method?

Yes. Send us the method, and we review it and confirm the setup before testing.
